Susan Speaks: Yep, that time again

Hey, guys. It's my turn to be a Working Stiff. Go on over and please try to not laugh too hard...

Leave comments here or there; whatever makes you happier. (I do respond faster here, though)

And thanks for the virtual hugs and kind words. I may or may not talk about it later on, but I might have found a solution to at least one of the two problems that sprang up on Tuesday. We shall see if The Tour Manager and I can pull it off.

Century rides can be quite challenging, depending on the terrain. But they're like anything else in life-- build up to it properly, and you'll be good to go!

You'll have bigger worries than suicidal bunnies on a big ride, though. There are rides I simply won't do because they attract too many amateurs who refuse to learn the basic rules of the road.

So learn your lessons from Thumper and his pals! That way you'll be ready for Clueless & Company.

And if you want a really good spin workout, it's best to use your own bike. You can get a trainer (which converts your bike into a stationary bike) for as little as $150. Buy some Spinervals vids and you'll be ready for a great, road-appropriate workout!

I just commented over at Working Stiffs.
Happy Friday!

Keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out.

I would love to see a picture of you on your bike, Susan. And NOT to laugh.

Go, Grrrl!

That's the one thing I don't like about the Ride for Roswell, the crazies who have no idea how to ride in traffic.
The first year we did the ride, I almost wiped out because of one of those yahoos.

Lovely links. :) What kind of hamantashen? cheese or fruit?

Good luck with the ride.Michele says hi

I was somewhere over the Atlantic on Tuesday, so I have no idea what happened, but whatever it is I hope it's better or getting better by now.

As for Century rides, my husband would love the idea. Me? I sold the bike he conned me into buying years ago. Definitely not my sport...

Off to try and catch up now.

ah...that was fun. I would like to try my hand at writing crime or murder stories.

Well, Leigh, you should give it a go! What's stopping you?

Fingers crossed that everything works out! sorry I was so late heading over to working stiff. It was a wild weekend that would've made Trevor and the guys really proud! ;)

Ooh, Amy, I am in need of some details, then!

so - are you taking donations for your ride? did i miss that info somehow in my tangenty method of reading? you rock susan - you know that doncha? now i have to run over and see if Amy posted and find out what kind of weekend hellish goodness she raised.

I'm too busy writing a poem for this poetry train thing to train for a century properly... besides, that's still a few years off, when #2's in school all day and I have the time for long rides.

I used to do a lot of road riding. I even bought a Canondale Criterium 3.0 aluminum road bike back in the late 80s. I used to ride an awful lot - like 100 to 200 mile per week. Alas, that was then and this is now. The only time I'm ever on two wheels is when there is a V-twin engine between them.

Michele sent me,

Mike

Michele sent me over, Susan.

I did many a century and even a few double-centuries when I was younger. I suspect I'd have a lot of trouble doing it now, even if I trained for a few weeks. It's a lot of mileage to cover if you're going at a normal pace. If you're having trouble with knees, it's probably not a good idea! Still, it's a lot easier on the bod than running.

Hope you feel better! Thanks for dropping by my kooky Adventures in Cyberia blog!

Laugh, never, not at riding a bike. It would be laughable if it were me.. . Ride on, I'd get a t-shirt. ..

I put thousands of kms on my bikes every year. Between commuting and pleasure riding, I spend more time in the saddle than I do in the driver's seat of the family car. And that's the way it should be.

If I lived closer, I'd say it would be an honor to join you on your century ride. Every year, I try to knock off at least two or three such rides, simply because they're there. It's such a wonderful goal, and an even more wonderful achievement.

Ha ha, the title made me laugh out loud.

I don't know what's going on bu here's a bunch of hugs and kisses just for you. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
