Susan Speaks: Laugh with Me

Really. Once you get on my bad side, there's not a lot of hope for you.

Which is why I had to point out that the Pittsburgh Hilton is having a bit of trouble paying their workers.

This Hilton, I've learned, is actually a franchise hotel. Its owners claim to be digging themselves out of the financial hole they got themselves into. But the hotel still bears the Hilton name and a franchise or not, it's still the Hilton company who looks bad. 'Cause you can't tell me that the other three Hilton-named hotels I've had crappy experiences in were franchises, too. If so, then the Hiltons really ought to consider who they're letting buy in. I meant it when I said I was done staying at anything bearing the Hilton name.

I know that every single person at the Romantic Times Convention here in Pittsburgh with me are joining me in an impassioned eye roll, snicker, and even, perhaps, a shudder of horror at the memories of that place.

When I have a bad experience with a franchise... I tell everyone. And I usually don't go back to them. There's always a competitor out there willing to outdo the business I'm leaving behind anyway.

Thanks Susan for linking to the Rockin' Chair Writers prompt. We have met before, we tend to travel in the same circles. :)

As for Hilton, they have a bad reputation everywhere.

Btw, we love the Tour de France as well. I assume you're in front of the television as we speak. You may already know, but cyclingnews.com from Sydney Australia has live internet coverage of cycling year round including le Tour.

Oh, Brian, that's dangerous!

Oh yeah, I'm right there with you: eyeroll, snicker, and shudder. I still can't believe how badly they screwed up. OY.

well now I have to think twice about inviting you over to my place, hehe

fortunately Hotel Michele is a first class place.
happy weekend.

Sounds like Hiltons aren't anywhere near what they're cracked up to be!

VERY clever twist of words, my friend!

Pittsburgh sounded like an interesting hotel experience. When we finally get to meet remind me to tell you of our hotel experiences on Zanzibar. :)

I can't say I'm surprised. I have had some horrendous hotel experiences under the Hilton name. They wouldn't know customer service if it jumped up and bit them! As long as Paris has a new designer handbag to carry her yappy little mutt in, who cares, right?! ;)

I'm looking forward to all the details.

Would life have been the same for her if they named her Pittsburgh instead of Paris?

That particular Hilton is a giant vacuum of suck. It's a wonder the thing is still open considering all the drama that goes on there.

Confused - wanted to enter the Carole Nelson Douglas contest, clicked Enter Via Here...and came to this page.

Anyway, if you're willing to post to Australia, I'd love to be in the running, please.

Have a lovely day! :-)
