Susan's Book Talk: Book Binge!
I decided that joining the Book Binge challenge was something I could easily accomplish. Despite the fact that school is letting out and the Penguins are in the Stanley Cup Finals (for how much longer, no one knows and I really fear for Game 6, but that's how life is. I loved my Pens when they sucked. I love them if they don't win the series.), I read like a demon.

Wow. Eleven books. Pretty good, but I'd been hoping to finish a certain ARC of a certain upcoming release of a certain series I love so much, I can hardly wait to sit down, crawl inside, and read some more of. Stay tuned for more about that, but it's possible that I like this place more than my own creation right now (probably because it's not my creation. You know how that goes).
Only one of these books disappointed me, and I'll have more about that later on. The rest I really dug, especially Little Vampire, which both my kids attached themselves to. The book says it's for kids 10 and over. My kids aren't ten. That hasn't stopped them yet.
Three of these books are still here in the house (H, Dr. Moreau, and Willie). If you'd like to read one of them, give a yell and I'll share my copy with you. Yes, they're all registered at BookCrossing. Why? Because it's fun to see where a book I've read ends up (and for how long, which is something I'm terribly guilty of).
Now, I must leave and go finish up that ARC 'cause I'm also in the middle of a cool mystery I'll tell you about when I finish it. And there's a lot of buzz right now about the way cool Toni McGee Causey, whose new book, Bobbie Faye's (Kinda, Sorta, Not Exactly) Family Jewels, has me excited to pick up the first in the series as my next read... I've got a copy to share, too, so stay tuned.

After getting to narrate last week's Thursday Thirteen, this is definitely how I'm feeling.
The boys weren't really sure who to tag for this 'cause they're fictional and all. And besides, they are boys. And rock stars to boot. Do we really expect them to be experts on etiquette?
Still, I'd love it if some of you took a few minutes to do this. If you give me credit for your own book covers, I'll update and link back to you here.
Celebrate banned book week with a banned book! May I recommend Fat Kid Rules the World by K.L. Going? Or any of the Captain Underpants books. And don't forget it's Buy a Friend a Book Week, beginning in a few days! Why not give a friend Amy Ruttan's new release? Or how about Red Garnier's?

Tag! I'm it -- twice!
It seems I can't turn around and write some fiction without you guys tagging me for things. I'm flattered by this; it's a good feeling to be important. Just remember to bring your friends around for a visit or two -- whatever it takes until they get hooked.
So, first off, Andrew tagged me with a new (to me) one: the goals meme.
I can't say that I have between five and ten crazy goals or dreams I want to achieve in my lifetime. I only have one: to be a successfully published author of Trevor and his friends. (What? You thought I was done with these guys once Trevor's Song gets published?)
Therefore, let's turn things over to Trevor...
Five goals, Trevor Style
1. World Domination by ShapeShifter, of course. I mean, why else form a band? I didn't need those wankers to get girls.
2. Get Rusty permanently out of Mitchell's life. Not to mention mine. Not in that order, though.
3. To love back every woman who already loves me. Maybe I'll love her front, too. And sides; why stop when you're on a roll?
Rolling's fun, too.
4. To be called "Mr. Wolff" when I check in at some hoity-toity hotel, and not get eyed up 'cause they think I'll trash the place. Why does everyone expect me to do the cliched shit?
5. Respect.
Ahh, poor Trevor. Above and beyond all else, he only wants one thing in life. Just like me; it's our goals that are different, though.
Which brings me to meme #2. The way cool Amy Ruttan tagged me with my third Thinking Blogger Award. Wow! Three of them!
